The Kangarilla Road estate is in South Australia, in the McLaren Vale an hour by car from Adelaide to be more precise. The region is bounded by the Gulf of St Vincent to the west and rolling countryside to the east. Vines have thrived here since 1850 and the McLaren Vale is considered one of the highest quality wine regions in Australia. The climate is marked by hot summers and mild winters under the influence of the nearby ocean. Helen and Kevin O'Brien started their business in 1997. Kevin, a winemaker with a wealth of experience earned over 20 years, is responsible for the vineyard and cellar work. Helen looks after promoting the estate and selling the wine. Kangarilla Road has 12 hectares of vines, which is very little by Australian standards. Planted in 1975 the vines have now reached a good adult age. They are grown organically and biodynamically and produce high quality grapes. The harvest is complemented by grapes bought in from other producers who meet the same production criteria. Helen and Kevin's philosophy is simple and persuasive: make wines that can stand by themselves or with food. Their work regularly wins accolades from wine critics and the press. In the 2010 edition of the James Halliday Companion the estate got 5 stars!

Castello del Terriccio

Castello del Terriccio

Castello del Terriccio is one of the largest agricultural estates in Tuscany (Province of Pisa) with its own microclimate. The approximately 1700 hectares extend from the northern end of the Maremma to the Tyrrhenian Sea. The vineyards enjoy a south-southwest exposure with the warming and luminous effect of the sea. The Mediterranean maquis and the eucalyptus trees growing all around it not only protect the grapes from the wind, but also imbue them with the scents and aromas that give the wines of the Terriccio their distinctive flavour.

High above Sion, on the Clos du Château, is the heart of the oldest wine trading house in Valais – today's winery Charles Bonvin SA. The view sweeps over the wide Rhone valley, meets the two castle hills of Tourbillon and Valère and grazes on the magnificent Valais vine landscape with its countless terraces.

For many years Baur au Lac Wines has been Switzerland's exclusive importer of the sumptuous Cognacs created by Dominic Park. The story goes back to the 1990s when Dominic Park decided to leave his job as a wine trader in London to create his own cognac house with the style he wanted. This is summed up by a very clean vision of what cognac should be: insist on the best origins and a very precise distillation and ageing to give a high-class product in a modern, elegant bottle.
