Mannochmore Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 14 years 2008
Speyside, The Whisky Cellar, 750 ml
Producer: | The Whisky Cellar |
Origin: | United Kingdom / Highland-Speyside |
Description
Mannochmore sits on the more delicate side of the Speyside flavour wheel, so bottling expert Keith Bonnington didn’t want to kill the distillate with this first fill Oloroso Sherry hogshead. The liquid was checked regularly through its final 18 months of "finishing" in the sherry cask, and the influence is pretty special in this 14-year-old stunner. The whisky has a burnished copper colour, with fruits of the forest jam, orange peel and ripe fig aromas. On the palate, you will taste black wine gums, artisanal marmalade, dates, and Jamaican ginger cake spice. The finish has nut and raisin chocolate, toffee apples, nutmeg, and cinnamon swirls.

Highland-Speyside
