Brilliant comeback
A true original: The Marolo distillery has reconstructed pharmacist Domenico Ulrich's vermouth recipe from 1854. It uses wine and botanicals from Piedmont as well as browned sugar instead of the caramel colouring that is common today.
Candied orange, gentian, lemon balm, incense. Sunny orange fruit meets self-confident bitterness, softened by perfectly dosed sweetness.
Wonderful neat on ice with an orange twist. And: an astonishing contrast to milk chocolate cake!
