Description
The Blowing Stone’ Nettle <(>&<)> Blackberry Gin is the fourth in the Ashdown Series and is a tribute to Alfred’s first victory over the Danish Vikings. Using the original London Dry recipe as a base, batch - distilled using a three -part process, they use a blend of beautifully balanced botanicals which could be found locally during the middle ages, including nettle and blackberries to create a sweet and aromatic fruity beauty. This beautiful hedgerow gin uses infusions of two important Saxon ingredients; tender young nettles, used abundantly in Anglo Saxon and Viking dishes and ripe blackberries which were enjoyed as a treat. The ‘brymble’ bushes were often used as a line of defence against invaders. Initial fragrant berry burst on the palate with a delicate sweet nettle twist. Smooth mouthfeel and a long taste delivering fruit, citrus and floral tones.
