Maund Single Malt Whisky, Bourbon Cask Matured 2014
Destillerie The Wild Alps, Schweiz, 750 ml
Producer: | The Wild Alps |
Origin: | Switzerland |
Description
In the Maund Whisky 2014, a delicate scent of apples and a subtle smoky note go hand in hand with the typical aromas of Bourbon barrel ageing such as vanilla, coconut, caramel and oak. It is rich and juicy on the palate, with an interesting play of fruity aromas, malt, honey and, again, a hint of smoke and peat. The finish is long, with elegant touches of tobacco and dried fruit.

Switzerland – A small country with enormous diversity
Switzerland is famous for its banks, watches, and cheese, but not necessarily for its wine. The Swiss didn't invent wine, but they have been extremely open and curious to it. Wine culture arrived in what is now modern Switzerland via several routes: from Marseilles to Lake Geneva and the Lower Valais region; from the Aosta Valley through the Great St. Bernard Pass to the rest of Valais; from the Rhone through Burgundy, across the Jura Mountains to Lake Constance; and from Lombardy to Ticino, and then on to Grisons.
